Transition

Transition at Dannevirke South School is a whanau affair. Our aim is to immerse your tamariki in our learning environment so they become part of our school family. Every week for 10 weeks tamariki and whanau come to school and join in with our class programme. Dannevirke South School offers ‘play based learning.’ We know the importance of developmentally appropriate learning opportunities balanced with smaller group work and explicit teaching in ‘Reading, Writing and Maths.’ Transitioning tamariki will be able to build relationships with new friends, kaiako and reconnect with old friends from Kindy and Pre-School.
