Cybersafety

Whilst use of the Internet brings enormous benefits to the teaching and learning opportunities available at school, we are also aware of understandable parental concerns regarding its use in the classroom. The school Cyber Safety policy aim to address these issues.

We believe that encouraging appropriate use of the Internet is a shared responsibility of schools and parents. 

The school office can give parents a copy of the Cyber Safety agreement. One part of our safety procedures is to ask you to talk to your children about our safety rules and to sign the form  to show that you have read these guidelines and agree to abide by them. Please return the signed portion to the school office.

If you would rather your child does not use the Internet or email in their classroom, please make sure the classroom teacher is aware of this.

We also update and present students work and photos of school functions on the website and in the newsletter. If you do not want your childs photo to appear please contact the school.

Rules for Cyber Safety

  1. School computers are to help me with my classroom learning. They are not for play.
  2. The only time I can use the Internet and e-mail at school is when a teacher is supervising me.
  3. If I accidentally come across dangerous, mean or rude material, I will immediately turn off the screen, tell the teacher without showing any other children.
  4. I will be a good online citizen and not do any thing that hurts other people.
  5. I will not give out personal information about myself or another person such as name, telephone number, address, or the name or location of my school, without my teacher’s agreement.
  6. I will never send a person my picture or any thing else without first checking with my teacher.
  7. I will never agree to get together with someone I ‘meet’ online without my teacher’s involvement.
  8. I will not bring games or other software from home to put onto the classroom computer.
  9. I understand that if I break the Rules for Online Safety, it could result in the loss of my Internet access.
